How do I get started?
Install the CLI on your Mac with brew install termonmac/tap/termonmac, then download the TermOnMac app from the App Store on your iPhone. Run termonmac in your Mac terminal, scan the QR code with the iPhone app, and you're connected.
How does the connection work?
Your iPhone and Mac connect through our relay server hosted on Cloudflare. The relay only forwards encrypted packets — it never decrypts or stores your session data. Both devices establish a shared secret using Curve25519 key exchange during QR code pairing, and all subsequent communication is encrypted with AES-256-GCM.
Is my data secure?
Yes. All terminal sessions are end-to-end encrypted. The encryption keys are generated during QR code pairing and stored only on your devices (in iOS Keychain on iPhone, and a local configuration file with restricted permissions on Mac). Our relay server is zero-knowledge — it cannot read your terminal content. We do not use any analytics or advertising SDKs.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your iPhone's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions > TermOnMac. You can also manage subscriptions directly in the app under Settings. After cancellation, you'll retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period.
The connection keeps dropping — what should I do?
First, make sure both your iPhone and Mac have stable internet connections. Check that the CLI is still running on your Mac (run termonmac status to verify). If the issue persists, try re-pairing by scanning a new QR code. Network switches, VPN changes, or your Mac going to sleep can interrupt connections — the app will attempt to reconnect automatically.
